CITIZENS' LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
The eight-week academy is a series of classes offered to Norristown residents or business owners to help develop skills as a community leader and understanding of how municipal government operates. Graduates of the Citizens Leadership Academy may go on to leadership roles on municipal boards, commissions and Council. Municipal staff conducts the sessions with focus on three major themes: Education, Leadership Development, and Communication Dynamics. Relevant information will enable citizens to understand how municipal departments serve the community, and understand the processes involved. The next session will begin September 2018.
Participants will be notified via email of their acceptance into the Program. For more information, contact Gabriela Prete at firstname.lastname@example.org or (610) 270-0429.

Hear from past participants:
"CLA was eye-opening! "Learning what it takes to run Norristown and how things get done has provided me with a renewed appreciation of the town I live in! " - Kim Lacy, resident
"I signed up for the Citizens Leadership Academy as a Norristown home owner and parent seeking a better understanding of how our tax dollars are spent, but I walked away with so much more. I learned about every aspect of our community from governing and policing, to budgets and planning, to education and community initiatives. I was fortunate to spend time each week listening to the information shared by each of the department representatives and counsel members. I appreciated the interactive nature as well as the feedback and questions from my classmates. Everyone in our community, whether long time residents or those new to town, can benefit from attending the CLA. " - Grace Williams, resident
"I truly enjoyed my Citizen's Leadership Academy experience. The opportunity to connect with our civic leaders and gain insights into their strategies, accomplishments and challenges, helped me to become a more informed citizen and develop a genuine appreciation for the ongoing efforts and passion to make Norristown a great place to live." - Elizabeth Morrison, resident
