HOURS:  Monday - Saturday, 6:00PM - 9:00PM (hours may vary)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Strong and diverse knowledge of sports; ability to communicate with parents and children.  Ability to stand and move about for a minimum of 4-6 hours; flexiblity (hours vary).  Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.  Previous work experience with children; must be at least 16 years of age.  Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal State Background Check and FBI Clearance required.

GENERAL DEFINITION: Four (4) Part-time Program Assistants for winter and fall programs; assisting the Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Specialist in program management and operations.  Experience in youth programs is a must.  Day and hours are Monday-Saturday; 2-3 hours each night.  The programs typically start around 6:00PM and end around 9:00PM at the latest (may vary).

Bachelor degree in Recreation Management/Sports Management or equivalent experience in a related field.  PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police and FBI clearance; First Aid and CPR certified.  Bilingual  a plus; ability to lift and carry up t 80 pounds, ability to move 80 pound portable baskets and set up soccer goals.

GENERAL DEFINITION:  General recreational work; supervising, planning, organizing, coordinating, marketing and promoting municipal recreational program activities.  Work hours vary; nights and weekends required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with large or small groups of children.  Work  performed under the supervision of the Supervisor of the Recreation Division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED; CURRENT PA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE, PA STATE POLICE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK CLEARANCE & FBI CLEARANCE. Must have the ability to interact with children, motorist and other members of the public, pleasantly and effectively.  Ability to adjust to changing work hours; ability to walk; stand continuously; work in adverse weather conditions; the ability to be assertive and control any given situation; the ability to work without direct supervision and to make quick decisions based on accurate assessment of a situation, using knowledge and common sense.

Working home telephone is required.

GENERAL DEFINITION:  This is entry-level work involving assisting school children to cross intersections.  Assignments are limited in nature and are carried out to detailed instructions.  Incumbent responsibilities include maintaining traffic control; ensuring the safety of children going to and from scool.  After training, work is performed under the superivision of a Supervisor, Police Lieutenant or Chief of Police.
