MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be at least 15 years of age; have a Penn. Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police and FBI clearances and previous experience working with children,  Basic knowledge of children’s games, arts and crafts and sports and basic computer skills.   

GENERAL DEFINITION: This position requires working with children and youth (3 years to

18 years), organizing group games and sports, setting up and running events held by the Municipality of Norristown Recreation Department.  Work is performed under the supervision of the Recreation Department Manager, and/or Supervisor and/or the Recreation Specialist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED; CURRENT PA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE, PA STATE POLICE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK CLEARANCE & FBI CLEARANCE. Working home telephone is required.

GENERAL DEFINITION:  This is entry-level work involving assisting school children to cross intersections.  Assignments are limited in nature and are carried out to detailed instructions.  Incumbent responsibilities include maintaining traffic control; ensuring the safety of children going to and from scool.  After training, work is performed under the superivision of a Supervisor, Police Lieutenant or Chief of Police.

On July 31, 2018 Plymouth Ambulance and Norristown Fire Department conducted joint UTV training. Members from both Departments trained on incline ascents and descents, winch use for evacuation and overall UTV safety and operations.
