Public COMPSTAT meeting
Norristown Police to Hold Public COMPSTAT
The Norristown Police Department will hold its next public COMPSTAT on Thursday, November 12, 2015 starting at 5:30 PM in the 4th floor Schuylkill Room at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, 2 West Lafayette Street.
COMPSTAT is a meeting that Chief Mark Talbot and his leadership team use to discuss the crime reduction strategy and their effectiveness in implementing the strategy. It is based off the principles of effective crime reduction and quality of life problem abatement that includes accurate and timely intelligence to ensure the most complete analysis possible, rapid deployment of resources to quickly address problems, effective tactics and strategies to ensure proactive solutions, and relentless follow up and assessment to ensure that problems don’t reoccur.
The police department leadership meets every other week to assess crime data and crime trends throughout the municipality and develop plans and adjust resources to address these issues. This process provides open lines of communication and coordination of effort. The leaders of the department are also held accountable for ensuring the crime reduction strategy is implemented and adhered to by all members of the Norristown Police Department.
