Meet The Ladies of Selma Mansion
A special FREE Living History Day for Mother's Day weekend. Meet the women who made Selma a home from 1794-1980. Cindy Pierson will be on hand to demonstrate spinning and wool-craft. Living history guide and author K.B. Inglee will show you how to operate a drop spindle, rushlight, quills and other historical objects. Learn how mothers used herbs to nurse their families back to health. Churn butter. Handle and try on historic clothing. Take a tour of the mansion to hear about the lives of the women who lived there (Elizabeth Porter, Rebecca Rice Knox, Ellen Fornance and Ruth Fornance). More activities for children and adults.
This is an Open House--come anytime during the event. Join us for tea and goodies while experiencing a bit of history.
Admission is free. Donations gratefully accepted for the restoration of Selma Mansion.
