| ARTS & CULTURE |
Norristown's rich cultural life is another incentive, typified by the award-winning theater and children's programs at the Montgomery County Cultural Center.
More and more artists and artisans are discovering Norristown, too. Driving through the main streets and neighborhoods, you'll notice a growing number of art galleries and studios opening up; textile workshops and stores featuring marble, plaster, wood and ornamental ironworks.
Perhaps it's the area's wonderful outdoor life - fishing and boating on the Schuylkill River, hiking, biking, and exploring nature on the Schuylkill River Trail, playing with the kids in the numerous parks all located right here in Norristown. Anchoring the north end of town is Elmwood Park, home to bocce courts, summer concerts, Little League and of course, Elmwood Park Zoo, a beautiful sanctuary of wildlife and education that has enriched Norristown since 1924. |

| MONTGOMERY CO - NORRISTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY |
The Library's roots go back to 1794. The Library is probably the oldest ongoing establishment in the Municipality of Norristown. Five years before the first Post Office or Newspaper was established in Norristown, and 18 years before there was a church in the Municipality, there was the Norristown Library Company. In 1962, the PA Dept. of Education designated the Library as a "District Library Center." The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library is located at: 1001 Powell St., Norristown, PA 19401
