Norristown Library Happenings


NORRISTOWN, PA -- Some cool things are happening at the Norristown Public Library

All children's programs are first come and first served, unless noted otherwise, libarians remind the public. 

The library suggests you arrive early to guarantee admission. Doors will close and a sign will be posted on the door to the Children’s Learning Center when maximum capacity for each program has been reached. Programs begin on time: 


Tuesdays, January 9 through February 16

Pre-K Adventures – 10:30 am – Activities are aimed at developing skills for Kindergarten, with stories, crafts, fun movement songs, and hands-on activities. For children ages 3-1/2 to 5 and their caregivers. Drop in.


Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 31

Homework Helpers – 5:00–7:00 pm – Bilingual volunteers are available to help students with homework. For kids in grades K-5. Drop in. No session on Dec. 26 and 28.


Wednesdays, January 10 through February 17

Baby Lap Rap – 10:30 am - Simple stories, new and traditional songs, shaker eggs and rhythm sticks for your baby and you! Flannelboard rhymes and props will help your child learn and play with Mother Goose rhymes. Ages 0-24 months with a caregiver. Drop in.


Thursdays, January 11 through February 18 

Toddler Tickle Tales – 10:30 am – Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities for young preschoolers, followed by toys and playgroup time. Ages 2 to 3 with a caregiver. Drop in.


Thursdays, January 11 through February 18

Twilight Tales – 7:00 pm - Family storytime! Our activities will be a mixture of fun and learning with stories, songs and an occasional craft and parachute play. For ages 0-7 with a caregiver. Drop in.


Saturday, January 13 

LEGO PLUS – 10:30 am – Imagine, create, and build using a variety of building sets, including LEGO, K’Nex, Straws and Connectors, and more! For kids in grades K-6. Drop in. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.


Monday, January 15

MLK Day of Service – all day – Drop in to make a valentine for a soldier in the veteran’s hospital in Philadelphia. For kids in grades K-6. Drop in. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
