Vice President Perry appointed to Pennsylvania Municipal League Board of Directors


NORRISTOWN, PA – The Pennsylvania Municipal League appointed Norristown Council Vice President Derrick Perry onto the Board of Directors as a Director-at-Large.  Perry will also serve on the Municipal Programs subcommittee of the Board of Directors. 


Vice President Perry was appointed as a Norristown councilmember in 2014, his focus has centered on economic development, diversity and youth empowerment.  


“I look forward to discussing issues and ideas with others from across the state that have the same goals, to find solutions.” explained Perry, “It’s an opportunity to work and learn from others in this distinguished organization, striving to make a difference. 


The Pennsylvania Municipal League serves ninety-five direct members who represent over 3.6 million citizens of Pennsylvania representing cities, towns, boroughs and home rule municipalities like Norristown.  The Board of Directors oversees administration of services including legislative advocacy, consulting-based programs, group insurance trusts, education and training certifications programs and publication designed to educate and inform. 

The Pennsylvania Municipal League’s mission is to strengthen, empower and advocate for effective local government. Through its services and programs to members and nonmembers, as well as secretariat services for two allied associations, PML touches more than 1,000 local governments and thousands of local government leaders.
