PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER KICKS OFF

$300,000 WATER LINE UPGRADE IN NORRISTOWN

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (September 5, 2017) – Pennsylvania American Water today announced the start of new water main installation in Norristown to improve service reliability, prevent water outages and enhance fire protection. The approximately $300,000 project will replace aging pipe dating back to the 1920s.

Starting this week, crews are installing nearly 1,000 feet of new eight-inch ductile iron pipe along Hamilton Street from Washington Street to the end of Hamilton and along Tyler Street between Taubel Alley and Hamilton. The company expects to complete the new main installation, testing and disinfection, and connecting customers’ service lines to the new main by early November, weather permitting, with final paving restoration scheduled for completion in spring 2018.

Construction will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Traffic restrictions will be in place during construction hours, and motorists are urged to find alternate routes. During construction, customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure. For more information, contact Pennsylvania American Water’s customer service center at 1-800-565-7292.
