Special Council Meeting

There will be a special meeting of the Municipal Council of Norristown on

Friday, September 2

6:00 p.m.- Council Conference Room

Norristown Municipal Hall (235 E. Airy Street, Norristown).

The purpose of this special meeting is to appoint an indidivudal to fill the vacant At-Large Seat on the Municipal Council due to the resignation of Councilman Millner on August 3.

Anyone with a disability who wishes to attend this meeting and requires an auxiliary aid, service or other accommodations to participate in the meeting, please call the Municipal Administrator's Office at 610-270-0421.

Free Admission for Norristown Residents


Elmwood Park Zoo extends gratitude to loyal Norristown residents by offering FREE admission to Norristown residents on the first Sunday of each month beginning at 2 PM.

Residents of Norristown that present valid photo I.D. may enter the Zoo free of charge after 2 PM on the following dates:

Sunday, September 4
Sunday, October 2
Sunday, November 6
Sunday, December 4

Adults must show photo I.D. as proof of residency. Children must be accompanied by a Borough resident. Non-residents will be charged normal admission rates. Borough residents are defined by living within the following four boundaries:
east of Forrest Avenue
south of Johnson Highway
west of Sandy Hill Road/E Fornance Street
north of the Schuylkill River

(16-2) Preliminary Plan Review – Redevelopment of the former Kennedy Kenrick (HS) site.

For property Located at: DeKalb Pike and Johnson Highway
Property Owner: Aquinas Realty Partners, LLC (Equitable Owner)

Aquinas Realty Partners is seeking preliminary land development approval for the redevelopment of the
former Kennedy Kenrick site which includes the construction of one multi-family building with one
hundred and ten (110) independent living residential units and a community center, construction of two
(2) multi-family buildings with forty-eight (48) independent living residential units each, and one (1)
proposed retail building. Also included will be the construction of two (2) single family dwellings with
two (2) garages for the community staff personnel and (1) maintenance building for the community.
Total units – 208 dwelling units. The project is restricted to residential individuals over the age of 55.

The owner of the property must be present, or send with the applicant, documentation authorizing the applicant to represent him/her, such as a power of attorney or an agreement of sale or lease agreement. There should be a clause stating that the application is permitted or at least that the lease is contingent upon the successful completion of the Zoning Application process. A corporate entity must be represented by an attorney or at least have an officer with authority (i.e., the President of the organization with specific authority to act on behalf of the corporation) present or a majority shareholder.
