The Finance Department conducts all financial transactions related to cash collections, cash disbursements, employee benefits, and employee payroll in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals. Effective controls are maintained to safeguard Municipal assets.

Real Estate Taxes & Trash Fees
The Finance Department collects the current year Municipal and County Real Estate Taxes, trash collection and disposal fees.
2022 and 2023 Real Estate Taxes
The Finance Department can no longer accept payment for 2022 real estate taxes. Questions for 2022 can be directed toward the Montgomery County Tax Claim Bureau. Collection of 2023 real estate taxes will begin in February after tax bills are mailed out.
Payment of taxes/fees/permits/tickets can be made in person at the Finance Department, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by mail. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the “Municipality of Norristown.
As of Nov. 2020, payments may now be made online! Payment may be submitted at https://taxpayments.norristown.org/.. A 2.65% ($3.00 minimum) convenience fee charged to each transaction. This fee is retained by the card processing service.

Duplicate Bills or Receipts
Duplicate tax bills or receipts can also be obtained for a fee of $5.
