Our crime reduction strategy is driven by data. A professionally run police department thrives on the tremendous amount of information that is generated by the various moving parts of the organization as well as from the conditions that we are trying to impact in the community.
The Data analyst is tasked with collating and analyzing data from all of the sources that currently support our operations, as well as data contained in sources that are outside of local government. The analyst collects the information, processes it into a usable format and distributes it to all of the leaders in the department.
In addition to that, we share our data with other governmental agencies, including law enforcement, social service, and health care providers. Freely sharing our data allows us to more effectively manage the collaborative relationships that we are building to enhance the capacity of the department as well as increase the services to the community.
