A partnership between the Norristown Chamber of Commerce, Elmwood Park Zoo, and the Municipality, Norristown Day will be a culmination of six separate activities occurring along Harding Boulevard from the new Norristown Recreation Center and baseball fields to the Fire Chief Memorial Bandshell and Elmwood Park Zoo:
Keep Norristown Beautiful Community Beautification Project Embodying the words on Norristown’s seal (Fevet Opus, “the work boils”), volunteers will spend the morning cleaning up and planting native species at the war memorial located on Harding Boulevard as well as in the tree wells on DeKalb Street.
Little League Opening Day (Tentative) The morning of April 6 will also mark the opening day of “little league” play in Norristown! The community is more than welcome to stop by the baseball fields next to the Norristown Recreation Center to watch our local youth at play!
Soft Opening of Norristown’s New Recreation Center Speaking of the Recreation Center, Norristown Recreation will be opening the doors for a soft opening of the first floor of the new Norristown Rec Center. We’ve been hard at work whipping the place into shape to provide quality recreational programming to the community and would love to show everyone what we have been up to and have in store!
Norristown Chamber of Commerce’s Party in the Park Starting at Noon, join the Chamber of Commerce at the Fire Chief Memorial Bandshell in Elmwood Park for music, food, and fun!
Norristown Capital Improvement Showcase At the same time as the Party in the Park, walk along Harding Boulevard and see the investment in vehicles and equipment that the Municipality has made as part of Norristown’s first ever Capital Improvement Plan!
Norristown Days at Elmwood Park Zoo In honor of Norristown Day, Elmwood Park Zoo will be admitting residents of the Municipality of Norristown free entry into the Zoo (with proof of residency) all day both Saturday April 6th and Sunday April 7th.
