Norristown Fire Department Prepares for Fire Prevention Week
NORRISTOWN, PA – The Norristown Fire Department has a full week of activities planned for fire prevention week, observed from October 7-11th.
The activities include fire drills at all of the public and parochial schools in the Municipality as well as fire drills being conducted at several of our larger buildings and at all of our daycares. Firefighters will also be participating in several programs at the Montgomery County Public Library including reading to children’s classes and showing off equipment. Firefighters will also be out canvassing neighborhoods to install free smoke detectors to residents and checking existing detectors during evening hours.
The Norristown Fire Department is hosting public events in support of this year’s Fire Prevention Week including:
- A Fire Prevention Fair at Musselman Learning Center, 1020 Sandy St. at 5:30-7pm on Friday, October 5th. Come see fire apparatus and have your face painted along with food and games.
- A Fire Prevention Open House at the Hancock Fire Company on Friday, October 11th from 6-8pm at their station located at 820 W. Airy St. Come see fire apparatus and get free fire prevention literature and handouts as well as free food and drinks.
