[ARCHIVED] Possible sale of the Norristown Municipal Waste Authority

Starting May 12, meetings will be conducted online to discuss the potential sale of the Municipality’s wastewater collection and conveyance system to Aqua Pennsylvania. Aqua has made a bid for $82 million to purchase the authority which provides services to Norristown and West Norriton. You can find information about the sale below with documents and video recaps of the meetings.Questions/comments are welcomed at PIO@norristown.org.

Upcoming meetings


The next meeting discussing the sale of the Norristown Municipal Waste Authority will be at the Council Work Session on June 16 at 6:30 p.m. Council will consider adoption of Ordinance 20-11 that will officially sell the NMWA to Aqua (see the Documents section below). Public comment for this meeting is through email only! Please send public comment on this agenda item to PIO@Norristown.org to be part of the official meeting record.
