In 2020, stormy weather resulted in a tree falling into the Elmwood Park pavilion, and then a major flood destroyed the park's ball fields and the damaged the Norristown Recreation center. Claims were filed with our insurance for these capital assets and money was paid out from our insurance provider to make the repairs.
There are five separate projects addressing the flood damage covered by Insurance are all have been advertised in the Times Herald. The bids go live on PennBid.net in early February (Read below for dates.) The sites will be available to potential contractors for pre-bid meetings in early February. All these projects will be under the $350,000 Responsible Contractor Ordinance (RCO) requirements, so the apprenticeship requirements of the RCO will not be required. All of the other requirements of the RCO will still be stipulated.
