Election Day, Nov. 2
This year's municipal election asks registered Norristown voters to make their picks for a number of local positions, including four seats on Municipal Council (District 1, District 3 and two at-large seats) magisterial district judge and directors of the Board of the Norristown Area School District. State and county judge seats are also on the ballot. NOTE: There are no federal races this year.
County Voter Services Offices
The county will be able to provide for you all of your voting needs. You may use these offices, including its main office at One Montgomery Plaza. This office is open M-F 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Go to Montgomery County Voter Services website if you need other information.

Voting
Electors this year have two options to vote: at their regular polling place, or by mail-in ballot.

Mail-in ballot
Following a change in state law allowing for anyone to vote by mail, voters may apply for a mail-in ballot no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 26 (apply for a ballot here). Returning your mail-in ballot can happen in two ways.
Secure drop box- Mail-in ballots must be filled out and placed in the accompanying secrecy envelope, and then put into the official mailing envelope. Sign and date the voter declaration spot on the return envelope and you are finished! The Norristown drop box is located at the Airy St. Parking Lot at Airy and DeKalb streets. You may return your ballot, AND YOUR BALLOT ONLY, at the drop boxes. If you are dropping off a ballot for someone else, you must have an approved designated agent form from the county: the designated agent form can be found here.
The drop boxes will be available for use from Oct. 16 to Nov. 2. These ballots can be deposited until 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. The drop boxes will be locked at 8 p.m.
By mail- Mail-in ballots must be filled out and placed in the accompanying secrecy envelope, and then put into the official mailing envelope. Sign and date the voter declaration spot on the return envelope and you are finished! Ballots sent in the mail must be received by the county by 8 p.m. on Nov. 2 to be counted.

FAQs
Q: What is a "naked" ballot?
A: A "naked" ballot is one where the ballot was not sealed in the secrecy envelope AND placed in the return envelope before being returned by drop box or mail. Naked ballots will be rejected by the county board of elections! Ballots must be placed in the secrecy envelope, and the secrecy envelop must then be placed in the return envelope. The return envelope must be signed by the voter in the designated area.
Q: What if I applied for a ballot and did not receive it?
A: You can go to the voter services offices (One Montgomery Plaza, 425 Swede St. Suite 602) and they can cancel your old ballot, supply you with a new ballot that you can immediately fill out and return it at that site. If you cannot use this option, file a provisional ballot at your polling place on Election Day. Conversely, if you lost your mail-in ballot, you may file a provisional ballot at the polls.
Q: I received a mail-in ballot, but now I want to vote in person. What do I do?
A: DO NOT return your mail-in ballot by mail or drop box! Keep your ballot and all of its envelopes and bring that with you to your polling place on Election Day. A poll worker will void your mail-in ballot and you may then cast your vote at the poll. If you lost your mail-in ballot, you may file a provisional ballot at the polls.
