June 16, 2021- The fallout from COVID-19 continues to affect our business and our industry, notwithstanding the availability of the COVID vaccine and the opening of the county, state and country. In addition to other COVID-related challenges, there is a severe labor shortage that is disrupting our collection schedule.

In an effort to minimize your municipality and its residents' frustration with our waste and/or recycling collection program under current circumstances and so as to provide your residents with realistic expectations of our current service, we are providing you with this Contingency Plan and priority of services until our company and industry return to more normal times

  • PRIORITY #1Picking up HOUSEHOLD TRASHOur intent is that your household trash will be collected on its regularly scheduled day. If for any reason your residents' trash is not collected, they should be told to leave the trash at the curb and we will collect it the next day (i.e., if your collection day is Monday and your trash is not collected , it will be collected on Tuesday).
  • PRIORITY  #2:   Picking  up HOUSEHOLD   RECYCLABLES.   Our  intent is that your recyclables will be collected on your regularly scheduled day. If for any reason your residents' recyclables are not collected, they should be told to leave the recyclables at the curb and we will get them the very next day (i.e., if your collection day is Monday and your recyclables are not collected, they will be collected on Tuesday).
  • PRIORITY #3YARD WASTE collection. Our intent is that your yard waste will be collected on your regularly scheduled day. If for any reason your residents' yard waste is not collected, they should be told to leave the yard waste at the curb and we will collect it by the end of the week.

Our company is working diligently to address the challenges that we are currently facing from the COVID fallout, particularly the severe labor shortage. You can be assured that these challenges are not the result of a lack of commitment on our part, as we continue to devote substantial time, energy and financial resources on a daily basis to minimize and eventually eliminate these challenges. Our company takes great pride in its reputation as a first class solid waste management company and leader in our industry with an infrastructure second to none. We are confident that we will be able to overcome these challenges and return to normal service as the labor market corrects itself. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and consideration while we work through these challenges.
