The Municipality of Norristown was honored by The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) with a Strategic Leadership and Governance Award at their 104th Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD.
Norristown received the award in the 10,000 – 49,999 population category for the economic impact of it’s effective implementation and the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) program. LERTA is a creative way to encourage owner-driven revitalization and new construction in the Municipality's Redevelopment Area. The Luxor Lifestyle complex, a $27 million development on Luxor Lane, took part in the LERTA program to bring 157 luxury lifestyle apartments to the Municipality in 2017.
