NORRISTOWN, PA – The Municipal Council of Norristown is pleased to announce today that the Norristown Department of Planning and Municipal Development have launched an exciting new website designed to help local businesses and potential developers find valuable information on the Municipality’s economic climate, incentives, and resources for doing business in Norristown.
“The Municipality of Norristown is committed to growing our local economic through business attraction and retention, and we developed norristownnow.org to be a key resource and one-stopshop for companies to learn more about the numerous advantages of doing business in Norristown,” said Municipal Administrator Crandall Jones.
Council President Sonya Sanders affirmed her support at the launch, stating “with our incredible location in the region, access to mass transit and highways, affordable real-estate options, and an ever-increasing quality of life, a site dedicated to economic development ensures that Norristown is well-positioned for the tremendous growth heading our way.”
The website will be managed by the Norristown Department of Planning and Economic Development. The department works collaboratively with the business community and serves to pro-actively attract, retain, and expand commercial business and industry in Norristown, diversify the Municipality’s tax base, and facilitate job opportunities for citizens.
The presentation to Council announcing the launch also highlighted the timeliness of the site, summarizing several revitalization projects including the opening of the 193-unit Luxor Luxury Apartments as well as the Philadelphia-based Ceramic Shop on Markley Street which has already produced 25 new jobs in Norristown. Also featured was the upcoming arrival of Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty, whose new headquarters will be located on East Main Street and will result in 120 new jobs in Norristown by March 2018.
